APC+ (Autologus Platelet Concentrate)

What is APC+?

Autologus Platelet Concentrate (also known as PRP, Platelet Rich Plasma) is a method used by surgeons to help improve surgical outcomes. APC+ is made from a small sample of your own blood (approximately 1 ounce). The blood is spun down in a computerized centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These concentrated platelets contain huge reservoirs of growth and wound healing factors. Clinical data has shown that growth and wound healing factors may enhance and accelerate your body’s normal healing process after surgery.

How long has APC+ been used?

APC has been used clinically for over a decade. Leading clinicians in specialties such as dental, ENT, Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiovascular and Plastic Surgery routinely use APC to deliver growth factors.

How could APC+ be used in my periodontal surgery?

APC+ is generally applied topically to the surgical site. APC+ is used to accelerate bone growth in dental procedures such as dental implants and is also used to seal wounds and accelerate soft tissue healing in gum grafting. Generally, APC+ is recommended in situations where surgery is more extensive.

What is the benefit of using APC+?

Potential benefits include the reduction of bleeding, bruising, and pain, decreased inflammation and swelling, enhanced wound closure, accelerated bone growth and reduction of overall healing time.
