If periodontal surgery has been recommended for you, there may be no better treatment alternative than the Perioscope. For 15 years, Dr. Weingarden has helped 80% of his patients to avoid periodontal surgery!
- Magnifies 48x allowing for incredible visibility to effectively remove bacteria below the gum line. This is the most important aspect of treating gum disease - so in the majority of cases, the Perioscope is more effective than traditional surgery or the laser.
- Is the most conservative treatment available - there are no incisions and no sutures.
- Costs less than conventional, surgical periodontal treatment.
How does the Perioscope work?
The Perioscope features fiberoptic technology that enables the clinician to view
and effectively treat areas below the gum line, without surgery. A miniature camera, attached to a tiny probe is placed below the gum line and an image, magnified 48x, is immediately displayed on a chair side video screen. This visibility allows for the most effective removal of bacteria below the gums.
How long does it take? Does it hurt?
The Perioscope procedure, due to its intricate nature, generally takes about 1-3 hours. Patients do not report discomfort with the Perioscope, during or after!
We are pleased to be able to provide you with this state-of-the-art treatment alternative and would be happy to discuss any questions you might have.
