Why Dental Implants are Considered Conservative Treatment
Implants are conservative treatment
Unlike bridges or partials, dental implants don’t damage adjacent teeth. In order to place a bridge, adjacent teeth, (which may be perfectly healthy teeth), need to be “cut down”. Because of this irreversible and expensive loss of tooth structure, bridges are no longer the treatment of choice and are not considered to be a “conservative” treatment option.
Partials are supported by “hanging on” to other teeth. This will often cause decay or loosening of the teeth holding the partial. You will never get a cavity or need a root canal on a dental implant.
Dental implants allow you to speak and eat with confidence. They will allow you to say goodbye to worries about slipping and clicking. No more messy denture pastes and glues and no more unsightly partial clasps.
